During the first two weeks of December, students from the Master’s and Ph.D. programs in Philosophy of Natural and Cognitive Sciences at the Institute of Philosophy gathered for the first time at the Pilar Campus of the Universidad Austral. During these two weeks, they had the chance to meet in person and take several courses in a face-to-face format. Our students came from across Latin America, including Mexico (Aguascalientes, Querétaro, and Puebla), Colombia (Bogotá and Cali), Venezuela (Caracas), Peru (Lima and Arequipa), Chile (Santiago), Argentina (Buenos Aires, Rafaela, and Tucumán), and Uruguay (Montevideo).

Throughout these two weeks, students had the opportunity to interact with each other, the program’s administrators and professors, as well as special guests, Professors Andrew Pinsent (Oxford, United Kingdom), Georg Gasser (Augsburg, Germany), and Miguel de Asúa (Buenos Aires). These professors conducted courses on the second-person perspective, theory of action, and the theory of evolution, respectively. Additionally, students participated in panels designed to prepare their thesis plans and work on their master’s and doctoral theses.

These panels featured the valuable contributions of Professors Juan José Sanguineti and Olimpia Lombardi, both of whom are members of the Institute of Philosophy faculty and shared their extensive experience in guiding graduate theses.
